Our History

Infinite Possibilities is owned and operated by two cousins, Robert (Rob) Brubacher and Alexander (Alex) Zalewski. Their grandfather, Casey Van Maris, came to Canada from Holland in the 1950s and started a successful landscaping company; Parklane Nurseries Ltd. Van Maris passed away in 1999, leaving large shoes to fill. Among other accomplishments, Casey helped found the Landscape Ontario trade association, in addition to designing multiple award-winning model gardens. His commitment to integrity and ingenuity created a positive atmosphere for growth and learning. Many of the reputable landscape companies in the province were started by people who began their careers at Parklane, learning under Casey. This includes Keith Bailey, the founder of Infinite Possibilities, who worked at Parklane from 1985 to 1993; the teachings and practices learned at Parklane guided Keith in the founding of Infinite Possibilities in 1993.

Rob and Alex both began their journeys at Parklane Nurseries, working under their mothers (Casey’s daughters), for over 10 years. When Parklane moved north to Beaverton in 2009, the cousins each struck out on their own, with Rob running a landscape construction company, and Alex a freelance design firm, bringing the same principles of integrity, functional design and a strong work ethic to their own business.

In 2014, Rob and Alex started working under the supervision of Keith as subcontractors for Infinite Possibilities, and transitioned into ownership in 2019. The clear connection of family legacy and outlet for artistry as well as a focus on quality made it a smooth and successful transition from Keith to Alex and Rob.
